[SCOOT!] Time - Mixed up Cards Recording Sheet

I hope your class is LOVING Time SCOOT!
If you think they're ready for a little more of a challenge, mix up the cards and lay them out using some with the analog clock and some with the digital clock.
Run this new recording sheet front to back (so all 24 spaces are available).
Turn your class loose to play TIME SCOOT!

More detailed directions are available with the individual card downloads (see Sunday and Monday posts (Feb. 26 and Feb. 27, 2012) - or search SCOOT on my side bar.

Graphics are from Clip Art, Etc.

[SCOOT!] the ANALOG CLOCK edition

Here's version 2 of TIME SCOOT!
I call this one the Analog Clock Edition - students have to draw the hands on analog clocks to match the time shown on the digital clocks.  This is always just a little more difficult for my littles than writing the digital time from an analog clock.  Good practice.  :)
Hour and Half Hour are included (you'll notice that the times are the same as the digital edition - the same numbers - because I'm working to create a recording form that has both the plain clock and the blank digital clock so you can mix and match the cards for an even better assessment tool! - Look for that little treasure tomorrow).
CCSS 1.MD.3 - Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
You have my permission to PIN this if you'd like.

A comment of thanks if you download would be super awesome!
Thanks!
Have a great week!

(I'm not sure how exactly I'm going to survive this week - I spent 5 of the last 7 days in my pjs watching tv spending time with my own little sickies!  Little M is feeling so much better!  However, Bubs now has strep.  Sigh.  He's been on meds since Saturday and is on the road to recovery - you know, watching endless episodes of The A-Team on Netflix while snuggled into a blanket on the couch)

[SCOOT!] the TIME edition **EDITED**

My kiddos haven't played SCOOT for a really long time.
We're starting our TIME unit on Monday and this will give me a super quick assessment of their time telling skills.
There are 24 cards (hour and half hour) which meet CCSS 1.MD.3 - Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
The download also includes directions for play and the recording sheet.
The image is linked.
**And edited so that the recording sheet is now correct with ALL numbers 1-24!**
Please say thanks if you take this.
Permission is given to pin this activity to Pinterest if you think it's something other teachers would use/enjoy.  :)
The clip art came from Clip Art Etc.
(Click on the bar under my blog header to be taken to their site - they have AWESOME clip art for teachers!!)

[SCOOT!] Skip Counting by 10s

Lots and lots of practice with skip counting this week!
Here are the SCOOT game pieces for skip counting by 10s.
2 of the game pieces use numbers other than the actual "10s."
I'm interested to see which of my monsters actually can do those 2!!
Image is linked to the pdf download that has 2 sets of identical cards.
12 pieces.  If you do a blog search for SCOOT, you'll find all of the directions, additional game pieces, and the recording sheets.  :)
Happy "Scooting!"

On an unrelated note, how to you deal with theft in your classroom?
I am currently pondering the consequences for a certain student in my classroom who thinks that anything I have also belongs to him/her.  Grrrr.

Right now I'm leaning toward a totally stripped desk - ie: only a junk pencil (all of my class has mechanical pencils and when/if they lose them, they have to use a regular pencil which may or may not be sharp from the junk box - this student adores the mechanical pencils and NEVER loses them!).  No crayons. No math box.  No scissors.  No glue.  Nothing except the junk pencil.

The desk will also be moved to a solitary space away from all classmates so that this student won't take their stuff.

I'm also thinking loss of priveleges.
Today is art day.  This student LOVE LOVE LOVES art day.
Hmmmm. . .sad day when you steal from the teacher and can't go to art day!

I'm not sure if this is even going to work, but I'm at my wits end.
The parents are also unable to help.

So. . .my amazing colleagues, what would you do?!
Please help!!

[SCOOT!] skip counting by 5s

Welcome new friends!  I'm glad you're here!
Hope you find some fun new things for your classroom!

This week we'll be working a little more on skip counting.
Up first, skip counting by 5s with our fun little SCOOT game.
My kiddos LOVE Scoot!

Image is linked to the PDF download - 2 full sets of SCOOT cards on a sheet.
I think that practicing 12 fact sets is a good amount for first graders.

If you need the 12 space recording sheet, you can find it HERE.
Have a great week!

[SCOOT!] Skip Counting by 2s

Just a little warm-up practice game for my kiddos today.
Next week we'll be scooting skip counting by 5s and 10s.  :)

Image is linked to the PDF download.
And, yes, there are 2 bonus questions here - skip counting by 2s with ODD numbers.  Oh the horror!  Bwah-hah-hah.
I realize there are only 12 questions.  I'm going to run this off twice and only have my monsters complete 12 practice questions.
I can get just as much info from 12 as I can from 24.

If you choose to use this game, please leave a little comment of thanks.

Happy Friday!

If you need the SCOOT recording sheet, it's HERE, 3 to a page.

[Turkey Tens] new SCOOT game!

My firsties LOVE LOVE LOVE the game SCOOT!
We play at least once a week.
Here's a fun little Turkey Tens version that will have your kiddos practicing their facts of 10 in a quick and easy way.
For those kiddos that aren't quite ready for the addition and subtraction components of ten frames, have them simply record the number of turkeys on the ten frame.

Image is linked to the PDF download.
A note of THANKS would be appreciated if you download this game for your classroom.

It's FRIDAY!!  YAY!  ;)
