[Mom Time] lunchbox notes

Hey, everyone!
School is rapidly approaching!!
(9 sleeps!!  AAAGGGHHHH!!! LOL!)
Before we know it we'll be packing home lunches for ourselves and our kids.

My kids rarely eat school lunch.
Kenton would eat about once a week, home lunches the other days.
McKayslin eats school lunch maybe 3 times a month.
I pack a LOT of lunches!

And now, with Kenton's medical issues, he'll essentially be home-schooled, so I'll be packing him a lunch each day so he can somewhat stay on a school type schedule.

Ever since my kids started school, I've been throwing little messages into their lunchboxes a couple of times a week.

Their favorite "little messages" are joke cards with a note from me on the back.
I watch for awesome things they've done and tell them how proud I am of them.
Or if I know they have a big test that day, I'll make the note one of encouragement.

If you like to do this to, hop on over to the Latter-Day Crafters blog today to pick up a set of super cute lunchbox joke cards.
They're free.
(Please follow the LDC blog and leave a comment while you're there).
Just download, print, cut, and add to your home lunch supplies so they're easy to grab when you notice your kiddos need a little extra love.  :)

Have a great day!
See you tomorrow!

[FRY 201-300] FREE game boards

Welcome to another Monday!
I'm kind of excited because this is actually my FIRST real day of summer vacation.
Well, kind of, I have summer piano students starting today, but that will be so much LESS stress than the 2 week math class I just finished!

With so much going on, I'm not going to stay and chat.  :)
Head on over to the Latter-Day Crafters Blog to pick up game boards for the FRY words 201-300.
I made this set of game boards as BUMP.

It will be good math AND reading practice for those littles that are ready for words 201-300.
I'm sneaky that way.  Wrapping 2 kinds of practice into one game.  lol.
Font is Pea Missy from Kevin and Amanda.  Number Graphics are from Dandelion Dust Designs.  Links are on the pdf files.

Have a great week!

[Cops and Robbers] Math Fluency BUNDLE SALE!

This game was a favorite in my class this year!
They LOVE the element of chance involved.  I loved that because it wasn't a game based on speed, even my slower computers had an equal opportunity to win.  :)

Cops and Robbers sells for $2 each function at Teacher's Notebook.

But. . .you can buy the FULL SET (addition, subtraction, AND multiplication) for $5 ONLY at Latter-Day Crafters!

Seriously a great game to play with your kiddos!
With my more advanced kids, I combined the addition/subtraction cards.
They LOVED that!

I'm running a sale at Teacher's Notebook and would like to do the same kind of thing at Latter-Day Crafters. . .so. . .now through June 16, I will reward you with FREE product equal to the amount you spend at Latter-Day Crafters!  Buy the $5 Cops and Robbers Pack, and I'll send you $5 of FREE resources!

Happy Shopping!

[Ideas] It's one of those writing trait thingies

Remember a few posts back. . .the one with the cute binder covers?
The one where I talked about our year long adventure in creating a writing resource binder?
Yep, that one.  :)

I have been exploring blog-world for things to add to my little resource binder and found this incredible idea from Connie at Welcome To First Grade Room 5.

Seriously a brilliant idea!
I wish I would have done this earlier in the year.
But I'm not that smart.
We did it yesterday.
My kids were super excited to have a "list" of writing ideas!
They worked on their own pages as I completed one on the projection system.
I'll have to take some pictures to add.  Adorable!

It was then time for our last writing assessment of the year.
Complete silence as they worked for over 30 minutes writing/illustrating.
Oh, if Connie lived by me, I'd be taking her a giant bag of M&M's as a thank you!
(That silence and hard work was exactly what this frazzled teacher was needing!!).

And the stories?!
Oh.My.Awesome.

Looking for an idea sheet to help your writers?
You need to stop over and visit Connie first - leave her a little comment love, and then stop by my Facebook page for the link to pick up today's Facebook Friday Freebie.

Oh, and it's FREE LISTING FRIDAY on Latter-Day Crafters!
Interested in selling your handcrafted items or teacher created materials?
Stop over and check it out!  Today you can list 5 items with NO LISTING FEE!!!

Have a great day!

[SATURDAY!!]

Whew!  Survived the week!
Thankful for that.
It was a rough one.

So grateful for the weekend to relax and work on some new fun stuff for next week!
(I really hope lots of you played along on Facebook Friday to get my gears turning again!!)

I'm kind of tired.
Worn out.
Ready for summer.

But thinking of all of the wonderful people that have helped in my classroom this year.
And trying to figure out the perfect way to say THANKS!

I {big puffy heart} crafting - making cards, photography, scrapbooking (traditional and digital), crocheting, sewing (sometimes, lol).

But I know that there is NO WAY I'll get anything handmade crafted by the time I need a gift in 3 short weeks!

[drumroll please]. . .
That's where Latter-Day Crafters comes in!

If you've never visited the Latter-Day Crafters site, you're missing out!
Oodles of amazing, handcrafted items for sale by incredibly talented individuals.
You'd be doing yourself a favor if you stopped by to check it out!

They have a blog, too!

Trina Christensen is the owner/operator of Latter-Day Crafters.
She has worked tirelessly to make this a wonderful resource for handcrafted items.

Teacher Authors - Interested in marketing your products in another venue that is smaller and more personal than TPT or TN?

Trina is in the process of setting up an area dedicated to the sale of teacher created materials at Latter-Day Crafters!  Leave a comment with your e-mail address and I'll give you Trina's contact information.

I know I have other readers that aren't teacher authors.  If you have a talent creating handcrafted items and would be interested in more information, I'll gladly share Trina's contact info with you as well.

And now, I'm off to enjoy my weekend.
After this week, I deserve a Route 44 Diet Coke, extra ice, fresh lime, and a day of doing whatever I want.  :)
I fully intend to take advantage of that!!
Have a great weekend, friends!
