[sigh]

Just not feeling it today.

So much time/effort goes into each post and game/activity.
Is it really so hard for people to say thank you?

Will I ever hit 200 followers?
(I cringe as I type that because it makes me all sorts of annoyed when all people do is talk about how many followers they have - who knew this teacher blogging community would feel so much like high school girl world - but seriously, I KNOW how many people download every.single.thing I post yet rarely, if ever, leave a comment or "follow" my blog)

Are my resources valuable to anyone except me?

Do I need a nap?

At least I know the answer to that last question.
It's a resounding yes.

Killed a giant spider in my shower this morning.
I hate spring/fall for that exact reason.

One of my littles is moving.
Today's his last day.

Today was payday.
Paid bills.
Doesn't feel much like payday anymore.

I think I need a good dose of sunshine and laziness.
I'll be back sometime.
Maybe soon.
Maybe not soon.

No response necessary to this post.
I'm NOT fishing for compliments or trying to get everyone to say nice things.
That's like getting flowers on Valentine's Day - forced affection.
Yuck.
If you've been around for any length of time, you KNOW how I feel about forced affection.

I'm not even going to apologize for the downer post.
Some days are like that.
We all have them.
Just being honest.
It's been a rough couple of weeks.

See you when I get back.
Whenever that is.

  6. As I always say...Some days are all fetch and no pat on the head... Let me just go ahead and say that I agree about the comment thing. I LOVE to read comments on my blog and feedback at my TpT store. Unfortunately, they don't come often enough. And I know that my activities are being downloaded by the hundreds. Oh well, at least I know in my heart that I send a comment to anyone who offers me something I can use in my classroom. And, thankfully, there are a lot of people like me. Sadly, though, there are way more people out there who are not like me... But, I try not to think about that! I hope your day gets better! Those of us who appreciate all that you do would miss your posts if you stay away too long!

  7. I know exactly how you feel! About it all! I see people download my stuff at my TN store but never leave feedback. I do get a few comments on my blog every once in awhile which I love!

I hope your day gets better :)

  8. I agree. You are braver than me for speaking your mind. Sometimes I think we are in just too big of a hurry and forget to say thank you. I hope you'll keep blogging. I'd miss you. I love your stuff. Thanks! I hope your day improves and have a great spring break. Mines not for another week:(

  10. Yes, I understand how you feel. It is really hard and sometimes I wonder why I even post when it seems people only pay attention when you say you have a freebie or whatnot. very irritating. I hope everything works out for you.

  11. I don't have a blog, but love reading them and getting new ideas and activities to use with my first graders. I read your blog every day and am so appreciative of your posts and generous free materials. I hope you don't stay away too long. Thanks for everything.

  13. I am a lurker, a watcher, and a pinner. I'm sorry. I do appreciate your ideas and I feel your pain. I have to keep reminding myself I blog for myself and not for followers. (Though followers help.) Keep creating stellar resources and your day will come.

One thing that might increase comments is getting rid of the verification words. I HATE them. Almost as much as I hate spiders. And to be honest, sometimes they discourage me from commenting.

Remember while Spring brings spiders and other bugs it also brings daffodils, long walks in the sunshine, and warmer temperatures. Keep pushing along friend. You are making a difference.

  14. My apologies. You left a comment on my blog, and in return I joined yours without leaving a comment. I am sending many pats on the back your way! A teacher's greatest supporters are other teachers, we should remember that!

Insert LOUD sobs and alligator tears here.

I have been blogging for months now and only have 40 followers. I don't think I'll ever get to 100, never mind 200. I am actually considering removing my blog and just having one for my parents. "Sigh."

    You rock, keep goin' girl!

  15. Gurl friend you're preachin' to the choir. I feel that way each time I post something and no one comments. It is tedious, but guess what, You are doing a grand job! Don't let it get you down. Keep pushin because you are helping aLOT of teachers, I am one of them. So I say thank you for all of your hard work. It does not go unnoticed. be Blessed in the Lord!

  19. While I"m NOT glad you're feeling this way, I AM glad that you posted about it. We all have days like this and I feel like it's "real" to post about it.

I see the stats page that Blogger gives me, and I see how many people visit my pages each day...yet, that "follow" number just won't jump. It can be depressing and frustrating to know how many people are viewing and downloading your things, yet very few of them will make the commitment to "follow" you or talk about you. I hate that "following" number on my sidebar because it looks so lonely and small. It embarrasses me; yet, when I take it down, it's inevitable that I'll have someone ask me where it is so they can follow me (which they never follow through with...). Sheesh.

I'm glad to know that someone else has felt what I'm feeling. Hugs and prayers to you! We can get through this!

  20. I'm so with you on that payday! Why do we get so excited about payday? It's not like we get to keep it anyway :(
    Hope you get some sunshine for your week! I check your blog often and enjoy reading your posts, even the downer ones :) {{Hugs}}

  21. I think it is hard to not get obsessed with numbers or not be hard on ourselves. We are all feeling that way but most of us just won't say it. I am still critical of myself even when I do get comments or feedback.

I remind myself that when I see how many people downloaded my *freebie* from TpT or visited my page that at least 18 kiddos from that ONE person have maybe been blessed.

You ARE touching many hearts whether or not someone is telling you. I am blessed to have you as a blogging buddy! =)

  22. Deb,
I SOOO know the feeling. I only wish I had the guts to post it. Kuddos to you for saying how you feel. Never apologize for your feelings---they are honest!

Ignore the numbers...if you see downloads, people LOVE what you are doing. Maybe our world is too busy that a simple thank you is too hectic to put out there.

I thank you!! The teacher world thanks you! You are talented, you are creative, you are wonderful to share. You are helping other classrooms out there!

  24. I just found your blog through Pinterest. I am very guilty of downloading things and not leaving a comment. Thanks for posting some fun stuff. :) In all honesty, I read a ton of blogs daily, however I have never clicked on a "follow" button. I don't even know what that really means. But, if I enjoy a blog, I will keep coming back!
Hope you are able to enjoy the weekend!

  25. When people ask how my day at school went, one of my favorite responses is, "Well you know. Ups, downs, strikes, gutter balls." I just stumbled upon your blog and resources while enjoying down time during spring break and wanted to say...thanks! Great ideas! Really clever and fun. Good for kids, good for learning, just all around good stuff.
